To the editor:
This is in response to the comments concerning patient care at St. Francis Medical Center. On Feb. 27, my mother was taken to the emergency room. Though at the time it seemed that her condition was not serious and the ER was extremely busy, we received attentive, professional care by the doctor and nurse. It was ultimately determined that she had had a heart attack and was sent to the intensive-care unit. Her condition deteriorated very rapidly. Pat LeGrand, a registered nurse, provided the most professional, caring attitude anyone could asked for at a time we were losing our mother. I can attest that St. Francis gives wonderful care to patients and families.
