In response to the Southeast Missourian article titled "Board of Aldermen to vote on in-home massage business that neighbors oppose":Massage therapy is a licensed and professional business with specific professional client guidelines to maintain licensure. A home business would not affect the quiet of a neighborhood or have a traffic effect, as one client is seen at a time.
Many people work from home on their computers: transcriptionists, insurance agents, paralegals, security companies, school recruiters, etc.
In this economy, I would not discourage a person from opening a single therapist business in his or her home. The community will not have to provide unemployment compensation or dollars from social programs, which are bankrupting the U.S.
