The attacks by Muslim fanatics over the years should have given the president some hint as to what we are up against. Our enemies have repeatedly told us this is a war against the West.

The Bush administration erred in releasing some detainees who are back on the battlefield and may have had some responsibility for the recent attempted airline bombing. Yet the Obama administration is determined to close the Gitmo prison after millions of dollars spent on its construction. In World War II German and Italian prisoners of war numbered in the hundreds of thousands, did not receive a trial and were held until the war was over. We did not start this war, and the current prisoners should not be released until this war is over. If they die in prison at least they will not be getting a second chance to kill Americans.

Now we are told no prisoners will be returned to Yemen. If a returnee to another country with a second chance kills me, will I be satisfied he is not from Yemen?

Treating this as a criminal matter rather than a war is dangerous and irresponsible and should be an impeachable offense. The administration needs to get a clue as to what is going on in the world. In the meantime it can change the name of the White House dog to Clue. At least then it will have one.
