To the editor:
This won't be anything new for those who know Mike Dumey and Robyn Hosp, but I wanted to write about the charitable hearts of these two wonderful and amazingly gifted people.
After our mother died unexpectedly, my family and I found ourselves painfully aware of the almost cruel realization that life goes on. Not only were we dealing with the grief, but the decisions and details of unfinished funeral plans. However, one detail was already decided for us. After hurriedly going through her things, a handwritten note was found in one of Mom's Bibles wherein she wrote that she wanted Mike Dumey and Robyn Hosp to sing at her funeral. Mom chose well.
Having had the privilege of working with Mike years ago, I already knew he was a super guy. I hadn't met Robyn yet, however. But, after just one phone conversation with her, I knew she was a gracious and genuinely warm person as Mike.
So, with barely a day's notice and despite their ridiculously hectic schedules the day of her funeral, Mike and Robyn were more than happy to fulfill Mom's wishes. This kind act of generosity deeply touched us more than can adequately be expressed.
Speaking for my family, and I know Mom would say the same: Thank you, Mike and Robyn, for your warmth, kind generosity and your beautiful voices. You did a superb job, and may God richly bless you both.
