Friday night there will be children walking neighborhoods for candy and dressed in costume for Halloween. It's not a particularly uplifting holiday, but there are some options for family-friendly fun.
A popular tradition for some families is attending a fall festival. There are churches in the area who holds these festivals, which can include food, candy, games and other fun.
If you're looking for a nice environment to take the children to on Friday night, we hope you consider checking with area churches or visit semoevents.com for information.
The next few days also are a busy time for music and drama at the River Campus.
These are only four of the upcoming shows on the calendar:
Jazz pianist Peter Nero performs at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the Bedell Performance Hall.
Southeast students will perform the play Macbeth at 7:30 p.m. tonight, 7:30 p.m. Nov. 6 through 8 and 2 p.m. Nov. 9 in the Wendy Kurka Rust Flexible Theatre.
Anything Goes, a touring show, will be at the River Campus at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
An Irish Christmas also will be held next week. The show is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Bedell Performance Hall.
It's fun to see so many events coming up. There are many options, and you can read about more events on Page 2 of the Southeast Missourian and online at the new semoevents.com.
