If you live in Jackson, today is the day you and your neighbors decide whether to invest into public safety.
While today's election won't set the national course on hot-button issues that fill your news feeds, it is nonetheless important.
This newspaper has reported on the issues at length. If you've missed our coverage, please go to www.semissourian.com/election to read up on the issues and become informed before you head to the polls.
It's not just the parks issue in Cape and the public safety issue in Jackson. There are also school bond issues scattered through out the region, from Oak Ridge to Scott County Central. There are fire protection issues in Kelso and Marble Hill. There's a use tax issue on the ballot in Chaffee and Benton, Missouri. There are also several school board, mayor and city council races.
Please take the time to become aware of the issues and don't forget to cast your ballots today. These races and issues are important to our communities.
