East Cape mayor sends thanks

As mayor of East Cape Girardeau, Illinois, I want to say a big "thank you" to the numerous people who worked hard to protect East Cape from a major flood recently. Your hard work, dedication and diligence will forever be appreciated by the village of East Cape Girardeau.

Some of the people I want to recognize for their outstanding efforts are Blake Gerard, Randy Colyer, Trenton Colyer, Chalen Tatum, Lamar Houston, Riley Webb, Red Cross, Illinois State Police, Alexander County Sheriff's Department, Illinois Department of Transportation, Humane Society of Southeast Missouri, East Cape-McClure Fire Department, Illinois Emergency Management Agency, Rep. Brandon Phelps, Sen. Gary Forby and Sen. Dick Durbin.

To those I missed, I apologize.
