The response from the greenhouse gas junta to my recent letter was amusing and predictable. Opinions not aligned with their beliefs are characterized as lies and distorted facts.
With regard to the Mars debate, total solar irradiance occurs in 11-year and 200-year cycles. The 50-year snapshot cited by Matthew Miller is meaningless.
If Mr. Miller believes Richard Revelle's refutation of Al Gore's predictions is questionable, he should refer to the trial transcripts that exonerated Dr. Fred Singer's 1991 paper, "What to Do About Greenhouse Warming: Look Before You Leap." Mr. Revelle's death in 1991 is immaterial.
Three major premises touted by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change have been systematically and scientifically refuted. They are hockey-stick temperature data, ice-core data and increased hurricane incidence with global warming.
Don't cherry-pick the politically correct scientific facts. Look at all the science, including solar irradiance, gamma-ray flux, low-cloud formation, cooling ocean temperatures, our solar system's fluctuating barycenter and complete Antarctic temperature data, not data restricted to the northernmost areas that have melted and refrozen for eons.
The closed-minded greenhouse gas-only crowd, either out of ignorance or ideology, is the problem, not science.
