Dollars wasted on health care

In response to Alan Journet's Aug. 12 letter: The government's taking over our health care is not the answer. I see the massive waste of Medicaid and Medicare. Thousands of dollars are wasted on nursing home patients. I have an elderly mother who has thousands of dollars wasted on unnecessary tests that are required by these agencies. These tests are not going to improve her quality of life.

Journet sounds like a person who wants our health system to model one of these so-called great countries' health care. If our health care is so bad, why do people from other countries and leaders from other countries come here for treatment?
