To the editor:

This has got to be the most disheartening election cycle I believe I have ever witnessed. The left is writhing and moaning as it watches what it perceives as two viable opponents pull one another deeper and deeper into the mire of idiocy and bitterness. The left has maintained that George W. Bush has divided America. It appears that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are doing much more of the same to the Democratic Party itself. If the shining son and daughter of the liberal establishment can't seem to get it together and unite their own party, how can they possibly hope to unite people from both sides of the political spectrum?

The right wonders why the Republicans can't seem to get it together and find a genuine conservative to run.

The independents? They are despairingly shaking their heads and muttering, "What the heck, man?"
