To the editor:

It seems as if more and more people are becoming alarmed at the moral direction our country is taking.

And we all like to point the finger of blame at politicians, greedy businessmen, the ACLU, vulgarity and nudity on TV, liberals and the ungodly.

But there is only one group that must take the responsibility for the decline in the morality in our country: Christians. Christians should be the light of the world to rid the world of evil, darkness and wickedness.

God placed this responsibility on the shoulders of Christians when he stated: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sins, and heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:l4)

We Christians have the responsibility of turning the moral tide of our nation.

And we have another opportunity to do our duty on May 4, which is the National Day of Prayer.

Many Christians all over the country will celebrate our freedom to worship God in reverent prayer to honor Jesus Christ, our Lord.

All Christians are urged to participate in prayer on May 4, the National Day of Prayer.
