Burlison: The political joke of our time!

I will try to limit my thesis to 150 words as I do not have the lobbyists' campaign funds that are provided to my incumbent opponent.

Are qualifications important? Compare and decide. Education: My incumbent opponent has one degree. I have seven academic degrees granted by four prominent universities, including University of Missouri-Columbia and Southeast Missouri State University. Experience: The incumbent has served six years in state government. I have served 26 years in county, state and national office (including six terms as your congressman). Community service: The comparison of the incumbent's service with my service is even more staggering than for education and experience.

Of greater importance is that the incumbent and his colleagues in Washington and Jefferson City have spent his six years fostering recession and war. My 26 years were spent fostering prosperity and peace.

The political joke? The incumbent won the election in 2008.

Please join me so that we can put our state and nation back on the track to peace and prosperity. Don't repeat the political joke of our time.
