To the editor:
In response to a Speak Out comment: I am perplexed. What does a national health-care system have to do with being Christian? We live in a country where you have the right to succeed, much more so than in any other country. Included in that is the opportunity to fail. Not everyone is going to be successful. Bad things are going to happen to good people. As Christians, we reach out to these people and offer assistance as we can. Through our churches, we can do this much better than a bloated, bureaucratic government ever can, especially when we get to decide how our money is used.
