To the editor:This is in response to the "Just ain't so" Speak Out comment. In Bible times a church was not a structure but an assembly of believers. Jesus was a Jew and followed Mosaic law which called for tithing. Tithing was used for the support of the Levites, the priests of the day. We use tithing today to support our ministers and our church.

As for abortion, everyone who knows the Ten Commandments should know "Thou shalt not kill."

As for homosexuality, read Leviticus 20:13 and Romans 1:24-28. A point I want to make here: God loves homosexuals but not the sin.

The word "rapture" does not appear in the Bible. It is derived from the Greek work "harpazo" in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 and means to carry off, to grasp or to snatch up.

Rapture also means great joy, ecstasy or wild excitement. 1 Thessalonians tells us, "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first."

This is exciting to me.

I want to be standing by the graves of my loved ones and shout with victory because I will be next.
