For a community its size, Cape Girardeau has so many cultural offerings for all to enjoy.
And now someone who has been involved in the arts for a long time has been rightfully honored for his participation.
Chuck Ross has devoted more than 20 years to community theater.
He recently won the annual Spotlight Award from the American Association of Community Theater, receiving it at the River City Players' annual awards banquet.
A former president of the local theater group, Ross was selected from among 4,000 nominees across the nation, an amazing honor for a deserving man. It was the first year a Missourian took home the award.
Cape Girardeau is fortunate to have men of Ross' caliber. We hope he keeps working to provide good theater to the city for many years to come.
