I am a mother of one, and I couldn't imagine putting my child in danger or cause her any pain. So why do we see other parents or guardians doing just that?

I work with the public where I see into moving vehicles. Every day I see children not buckled up or not put into car seats.

There are people who not only let the person in the passenger seat hold a newborn, but also hold the baby themselves as they are driving.

How can someone justify taking a crying child from the safety of the car seat or seat belt just for a moment's peace?

It is not fair to the child not to take the responsibility of their safety seriously. We are to teach them to have concern for others, but how can that be done if we can't show concern for them ourselves?

The next time your child is crying in your vehicle, please pull over and take care of it. Just because you have never been in an accident doesn't mean that it won't happen to you. You just never know.

Please, always put your child's safety first. It takes a minute to strap a child in but a lifetime to live with the consequences of not doing it.
