To the editor:
For the first time ever, I examined my ballot after voting in the primary election this year. I noticed the punch did not go through, leaving it with dimples. I put the ballot back in and punched again. This time it was punched all the way through, but chads were left hanging. Before depositing the ballot in the box, I told poll workers what happened. They said it would be taken care of. I told a poll worker I already pulled the chads off.
It sounded as though the punch went through the ballot, but it did not. I'm glad I checked before putting my ballot in the box. If I had not checked, would my vote have been counted?
Be alert. Check your ballot in all elections. I'm glad I did.
