The Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce recognized two exemplary businessmen at its annual banquet. Paul Ebaugh, a retired consulting construction contractor and bank president, received the Rush H. Limbaugh award. Horizon Screen Printing and Promotion Products was honored as the Small Business of the Year.

Ebaugh's list of accomplishments and contributions to the community and state is long and distinguished. Included is a six-year stint on the Missouri Highway Commission and service as a regent for Southeast Missouri State University. The honor was well deserved.

Horizon Screen Printing is an incredible success story. Rhoda Reeves began the business in the family's basement in the early 1980s. Glenn Reeves joined his wife when he retired from Sears after 33 years. He had served as manager of the local Sears store for many years. Today the family business, including a son and daughter, employs some 40 workers and produces some 2 million screen-printed shirts a year.

These people are fine examples of home-grown entrepreneurs who make a significant difference in our community.
