I have to expand on what Jean Rabe wrote regarding the fact that a casino would be just what Cape Girardeau needs. A person has a choice to gamble or not to gamble, and there are mechanisms in place should anyone have an addiction to gambling. As far as crime goes, a casino does not create more crime. It actually lessens crime due to all the security, plus a casino would work hand in hand with Cape Girardeau police...

As far as crime goes, a casino does not create more crime. It actually lessens crime due to all the security, plus a casino would work hand in hand with Cape Girardeau police.

The casino would create 300 to 500 jobs. Have you noticed how many people are out of work lately or how many travel great distances to work?

A casino would create $3 million a year in revenue. This would be just what the downtown needs. Have you been to St. Charles and seen how beautiful the downtown is there? Our downtown needs help and needs revitalizing.

Everything has pros and cons, but the pros far outweigh the cons in this measure.
