I have been a Cape Girardeau resident for 12 years. I read about the city's effort to promote itself. Coming from a smaller city just to our south, I found Cape Girardeau to be strictly magical. One is the loss of Riverfest. What a great time. It was sad to see it slowly disintegrate. Another thing I enjoyed were the fireworks on the Fourth of July, but the Fourth of July won't be the same without bottle rockets.

People complain about our city, but I hope they realize the amount of potential it has to be different. I could be a lot worse. Bring back the magic.
