The Secretary's Award is presented to programs that excel in providing effective adult education services. Program nominees are judged on the program's design, instruction, learning environment, achievement of learner goals, standards, evaluation and professional development. The selection process is highly competitive, beginning with the fact that each state is asked to submit ony two nominees. There are some 50 such programs in Missouri.

The school board, top officials and all connected with Cape's ABE program should take a bow. We're proud of this, the latest distinction of our fine local school system.
