To the editor:
I have one question for the mayor and city council of Cape Girardeau. All we read about is revitalizing the downtown area. It's only going to get worse if Cape keeps moving everything to the west end of town.
Take the water park. A proposed site is next to the Osage Community Center. Children couldn't walk to it like they can to the pool at Capaha Park. I'm not a plumber, but I am sure new pipes and filters and whatever else is needed to repair the Capaha pool could cost a lot less. No wonder there is so much crime on the east and south sides of town. There is nothing to do.
My question. Are you going to take away the last entertainment our children have on this end of town? Taking from the poor to give to the rich is kind of backward, isn't it?
