Cancer will kill an estimated 12,970 people in Missouri this year. State lawmakers have the power to guarantee access to adequate and affordable health care coverage, fund critical cancer research and screening programs and pass policies to reduce the burden of tobacco in our state.

Every day, our elected officials make decisions that affect cancer patients and their families. Throughout the election season, volunteers for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network plan to educate the public and candidates about cancer issues and the candidates’ positions on those issues.

As a cancer survivor, I am asking everyone to visit CancerVotes.org to learn where their candidates for state offices stand on public policy issues that will help make cancer history.
