Adrienne Ross, a member of the Southeast Missourian editorial board as well as motivational speaker, online radio show host, copy editor and former teacher and coach now has a new title to her name: author.
Ross will have a book signing from 5 to 8 p.m. at Barnes & Noble, to celebrate the publishing of her first book, "#AuntAlma: Raisin a Little Hell Heaven on Earth."
The book is a whimsical collection of quotations from Ross' aunt.
As Ross pointed out in a recent column, "This book captures not only her words, but her spirit. The colorful illustrations paint a picture of this sassy 79-year-old. The stories interspersed throughout tell tales that provide a deeper look into her. The book as a whole leaves readers laughing and feeling good."
The expressions address serious issues like aging, faith and even social media.
Ross began collecting her aunt's sayings and expressions, and as she shared them on social media, she found that the resonated with her friends. Ross began putting some of the quotes on coffee mugs and T-shirts. When she finally showed her aunt the items, she said "You panhandlin' your auntie!" The book is illustrated, and captures Aunt Alma's sassy and Godly attitude. We think you'll enjoy it.
We encourage you to meet Adrienne tonight at Barnes & Noble.
