To the editor:

In the April 5 Time magazine, U.S. Sen. John Kerry is quoted as saying, "I will be a president who is Catholic, not a Catholic president." I think this statement speaks volumes about the differences between liberal Christians and conservative Christians.

Liberal Christians believe that there is a separation between church and state. Therefore, they can justify a separation between their political and religious ideals.

Conservative Christians believe that they are Christians in all aspects of their lives. There is no separation between political life, business life, work life, private life or religious life.

President Bush is the perfect example of conservative Christian beliefs. He is a politician whose Christian beliefs are central to his actions. He is a Christian president.

All conflict will be solved when we are Christians in all aspects of our lives.
