I just happened to check the hometown newspaper today, and what a shock -- not that I had forgotten about snowstorms, but that it was 25 years ago. We lived on Lakeshore Drive at the time. Of course, like many others, we were frozen in our neighborhood for a week. We did travel with our neighbors to the local convenience store to get the essentials: milk, wine, toilet paper. Quite a hike. We played lots of cards games and board games and passed the time with our friends, the Kellys, next door. When we moved to Springfield, Mo., the next year we were met with an 18-inch snow and blizzard. Two in a row. What a coincidence.
