Had the International Olympic Committee selected Chicago as the site for the 2016 Olympic Games, rest assured, President Obama and his bride were primed and ready to take full credit.

Since the IOC turned their collective noses up at the U.S. bid, Obama's team is blaming former president George Bush for the snub.

None other than the Honorable Rev. Jesse Jackson used that excuse Sunday in a lame attempt to rescue the Obamas from embarrassment.

I have always operated under the obviously mistaken impression that a sign of leadership was the willingness to accept responsibility both good and bad. But the new brand of leadership in this country operates under a completely different paradigm.

With the White House royalty in place and the belle of Chicago, Oprah Winfrey, along for good measure, the bookmakers had made Chicago a prohibitive favorite to win the Games. Never was there a mention or a hint that the past eight years may have made the prospects more difficult. It was Obama time in Copenhagen, and the cameras were poised for the magic moment.

Alas, that moment was dashed with a last place finish for Chicago.

Then the spin machine went into full force.

Just how long can this administration continue to blame current failures on the Bush administration?

And for all of you Obama defenders, I am not blaming our president in any fashion for the IOC decision. It was not his fault. In the middle of a war and a substantial debate over health care, I might question his timing. But it was not his fault.

Yet for all of those who come to his rescue at every turn, please quit laying blame on the prior administration for all of the evils in the world. You clearly choose to rewrite history to the Obama advantage. That is your fault.

And speaking of history, let me remind you of one glaring difference.

When the Bush administration began spending money like a drunken sailor, it was the conservative media who came down hard on the president and his like-minded spenders. It was the conservative media who made the comparisons of spending between the GOP and Democrats. Unfortunately, there was not much difference.

But as the shine wears off slowly from the current administration, there is not one dissenting view aired or spoken from within the Obama army.

To speak unkindly would be to pull the veil from the aura that is Obama.

As we all know by now, the man can do no wrong. It wasn't his fault. The dog ate his homework. His tire was flat. Etc.

Someday this administration will look around and find no one else to blame.

And that day will come sooner than later.
