To the editor:My tribal name is White Turtle. The Feb. 5 article "Teaching 'the human people'" was disturbing for me and all tribal members. When TJ Greaney came to do the article, it was understood that it was to focus on our language class and nothing more. This article tells many lies and states very little about our language class.
I see clearly from the way this article was presented that honesty is not part of your policy. This article is mean and hurtful. You wanted to do an article, so we gave you one. We invited you into our world, and you betrayed us. You focused on negativity from outside the tribe and directed it toward my people. You have attacked my family.
I feel that what you have done is low and petty. I want to see a formal apology on the front page of your newspaper. I will be watching.
