To the editor: The new 700 Club may motivate liberals. I have been scratching my head since the bungled 2000 election trying to figure out what it will take before liberals finally wake up and start voting. Will budget-busting tax cuts for rich people do the trick? Nope...

The new 700 Club may motivate liberals. I have been scratching my head since the bungled 2000 election trying to figure out what it will take before liberals finally wake up and start voting. Will budget-busting tax cuts for rich people do the trick? Nope.

Even years of job losses, disastrous foreign and domestic policies, spiraling gas prices and the failure to find either Osama bin Laden or weapons of mass destruction all got big yawns from liberal voters. But maybe the last straw will be when President Bush uses the Samuel Alito nomination to turn the U.S. Supreme Court into the 700 Club. We shall see.
