Some congratulations are in order for two local Catholic high schools that have been recognized for their excellence.
Last week it was announced that Notre Dame and St. Vincent were recognized as "schools of excellence" by the Cardinal Newman Society.
This is the 10th time that Notre Dame has been recognized by the society, and the first time since 2010 for St. Vincent, which doesn't regularly apply.
According to a story by reporter Ruth Campbell, the Catholic Education Honor Roll's designations are marked by academic excellence and integration of Catholic identity. Notre Dame and St. Vincent were two of 71 schools nationwide to earn the recognition. This means both schools are ranked in the top 5 percent of the 1,303 Catholic high schools nationwide.
Again, congratulations to all of the leaders, teachers and faculty at Notre Dame and St. Vincent.
