JACKSON -- Zula Hahs of Jackson, age 87, died Tuesday, June 23, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born May 17, 1905, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of David Seabaugh and Nancy Jane Seabaugh. JACKSON -- Zula Hahs of Jackson, age 87, died Tuesday, June 23, 1992, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 17, 1905, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of David Seabaugh and Nancy Jane Seabaugh.

Surviving is a son, Mirley Hahs of rural Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Margie Roberts of Oak Ridge; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother.

She lived in the Daisy and Oak Ridge communities for many years of her life. She was a co-owner of the Cotner Boarding Home in Cape Girardeau, which was the first licensed boarding home in the state.

She also had owned and operated the former Rock Haven Boarding Home in Jackson. From 1963-69, she owned the Blue Jay Cafe in Oak Ridge. She also did a lot of private care for the elderly.

She was a member of the New Salem United Methodist Church for 77 years and was the oldest living member of that church. She was a former member of the Daisy Homemakers Extension Club.

Services will begin Thursday at 2 p.m. at the New Salem Methodist Church in Daisy. The Rev. W. Michael Woods will officiate. Burial will be in the New Salem Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:30-8:30 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, and Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-noon.
