EAST PRAIRIE -- Zola May Cummins of East Prairie died Saturday, May 1, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was 86.
She was born Oct. 29, 1912, in Irvington, Ill., daughter of the late Charles Jay and Mabel Ellen Mitchell Whittenberg. On July 4, 1949, she married Charles E. Cummins at Irvington. He survives.
She had lived in East Prairie for the past seven years, having moved from Ferguson. She attended the First Baptist Church in East Prairie.
Survivors include her husband and a sister, Hazel Korte of Herrin, Ill.
A brother and sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Shelby Chapel, with George White officiating. Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
