JACKSON -- Zola A. Riehn, 88, of Jackson, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born April 6, 1911, at Oak Ridge, daughter of Marshall and Tishey Lou Crites Wills . She and Herbert E. Riehn were married March 22, 1930. He died March 11, 1983.
Riehn was a cook at the Cape Girardeau County Jail from 1958 to 1967. She then worked at Litz Poultry for a number of years.
She was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church and the women's group. She received a lifetime membership pin and was past president of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Esther Circle and the Fellowship Sunday school class.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Oak Ridge chapter. She was a past worthy matron and had held numerous offices in the chapter. She had received a 50-year pin in the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a grand representative to the state of West Virginia. She was a past member of the Order of Amaranth.
She was a charter member of the Daisy Homemakers Club and was a Daisy 4-H project leader. She was a past member of the High Twelve Club.
Survivors include a son, Stanley Riehn of Oak Ridge; three daughters, Linda Thompson of Jackson, Verla Mangels of Oak Ridge and Janet Denman of Wheaton, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel. There will be an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Revs. Jimmie Corbin and John Rice officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery.
