Zita Marie Hoffer, 78, of 2801 Bloomfield Road, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 1994 at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 11, 1916 in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Francis X. and Elizabeth Goebel Seib.
On Oct. 26, 1937, she married Charles L. Hoffer in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Nov. 9, 1975.
She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Church, the St. Ann Sodality and the Daughters of Isabella.
From 1945 to 1962, she and husband owned Good Hope Tavern. She later worked at the St. Francis Medical Center as a housekeeper, retiring in 1987.
She is survived by one daughter, Jolene Stearns, Cape Girardeau; one son, Robert C. Hoffer, Brandon, Miss.; one sister, Bobbie Lottes, Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel today from 4-8 p.m. with parish prayers at 7 p.m.
