PERRYVILLE -- Zita E. Emmendorfer Herforth, 94, formerly of Perryville, died Friday, Dec. 27, 1996, at Clay West House Nursing Home in St. Charles.
She was born April 13, 1902, at Highland, daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Moll Emmendorfer.
She married John G. Herforth. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Parish and Daughters of Isabella.
She was a cook in the restaurant industry before retiring.
Survivors include a son, Donald Herforth, Venice, Fla.; four daughters, Barbara J. Walter, St. Peters, Shirley Kinder, Venice, Fla., Audrey Modde, St. Louis, and Ruth Krogan of Hayward, Wis.; 16 grandchildren; and, 14 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Miller Family Funeral Home. A parish wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Friends may also call from 6:30 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. A rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville by the Rev. Kevin P. Fausz. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.
