JACKSON -- Zilpha Mae Birk, 68, of Jackson, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 15, 1927, in Harrodsburg, Ky., daughter of Voris H. and Lucille B. Tewmey Burnette. She and Lester Birk were married June 23, 1946, in Paducah, Ky. He died April 5, 1995.
Birk was a child care provider in her home a number of years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and its women's guild.
Survivors include four daughters, Lucille Schweer and Carol Stover of Jackson, Pam Birk of Summitt, N.J., Linda Parker of St. Louis; four brothers, Kelly Burnette of Clarkston, Mich., Ken Burnette of Brownsville, Tenn., Bill and Marvin Burnette of Jackson, Tenn.; four sisters, Mary Avgeris of Memphis, Tenn., Shannon Anders of Cape Girardeau, Sara Frates and Rachel Burnette of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
