Zilpha Abernathy

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Zilpha E. Abernathy, 77, of Perryville died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at Life Care Center of St. Louis.

She was born March 23, 1936, in Bell City, Mo., daughter of Herman and Iva Workman Liggett. She and Tommy Abernathy were married Oct. 8, 1955.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Ronald (Diane) Abernathy of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Debbie Beacom of Perryville; a brother; three sisters; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Estes officiating. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield, Mo.
