Zelma Matilda Scheper, 96, of Scott City died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri.

She was born July 18, 1922, in Fornfelt to Otto and Adeline Hess Blattel. She married Ralph Hugh "Tick" Scheper on May 24, 1941. He preceded her in death June 18, 1993.

She was a supervisor for 33 years at Davis Electric Co. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, the Ladies Sodality of the church, the Ladies Auxiliary of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 6407 and a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans in Cape Girardeau.

She is survived by three sons, Mike (Kay) Scheper and Rodney (Pearl) Scheper of Scott City and Keith Scheper of Kingwood, Texas; a daughter, Janice (Don) Hahs of Scott City; a brother, Marvin (Carol) Blattel of Mesa, Arizona; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; a sister; and a grandson, Wesley Hahs.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., with parish prayers at 7 p.m., Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Casteel officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Scott City.

Memorial donations may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
