CHAFFEE -- Zelma Lela McCoy, 88, of Adrian, died Thursday, Dec. 26, 1996, in the Bates County Memorial Hospital at Butler.
She was born Dec. 22, 1908, in Jerusalem, Ark., daughter of Eli and Elizabeth Jones McKinzey. On Sept. 8, 1928, she married Marvin McCoy in Jerusalem. He died June 16, 1958.
She lived in Jerusalem until 1942, when the family moved to Southeast Missouri near Oran. She remained there nearly 50 years before moving to Bates County in 1991.
She is survived by three sons, Quenton McCoy of Adrian, Benton McCoy of Colona, Ill., and Kenneth McCoy of Raymore; four daughters, Marvene Engram of Oran, Dee Moore of Adrian, and Brenda and Linda McCoy, both of Springfield, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
One brother, three sisters, one daughter and one son also preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be held Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran with the Rev. Bill Moore officiating and Dan Richardson assisting. Burial will be in New Morley Cemetery near Morley.
