UNION, Mo. -- Zachary Dean Blackwell, 21, of Union passed away suddenly Monday, June 14, 2021.

On May 9, 2000, Zachary was born in Washington to his parents, Lena and Larry Blackwell, and Billy Thomas and girlfriend Rhonda Finch.

Zachary attended Union High School.

He worked as a line cook at Burger King.

Zachary was baptized at Union Baptist Temple.

He had a love for birds, video games and hiking. He was an excellent cook and could make a meal with few ingredients to work with. His specialty was his lasagna.

His favorite thing to order from Burger King was the dollar bacon cheeseburger with mayo and jalapeños only. Zachary was known for his mile-high sandwiches. He also had a little bit of a sweet tooth.

He enjoyed watching "Hell's Kitchen" with Gordon Ramsey and catching a hockey game. Zachary loved to joke around. He had a smile that would light up a room. Most of all, Zachary loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Margaret Pinson; paternal uncle, Robbie Thomas; and an aunt, Sue Mesey.

Zachary is survived by his mother and stepfather, Lena and Larry Blackwell of Union; his father, Billy Thomas and girlfriend Rhonda Finch of St. James, Missouri; sister, Hanna Blackwell of Union; special friend, Kimmy Lehr of Union; aunt, Tammy Sharp of St. James; nieces, Alannah Blackwell and Secret Blackwell of Union; other aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. June 26 at Union Baptist Temple, 1403 W. Springfield Ave. in Union.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations are appreciated to the Blackwell family.
