Yvonne Wagner, 86, of Cape Girardeau passed away at 6:06 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at Poplar Bluff (Missouri) Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 9, 1936, to Vero Roy and Elva Hale Guthrie in Alto Pass, Illinois.
She worked in child care most of her life, most notably at Kindercare in Cape Girardeau and also Just Kids Childcare in Cape Girardeau. She enjoyed gardening, reading and bird watching.
Yvonne is survived by a son, Jeff (Teresa) Rogers; daughter, Melissa (Kenneth) Eakens; grandchildren, Bethany (Thomas) Meyer, Caleb (Rebecca) Tate, Dr. Travis Rogers, Sara (Cody) Poole and Erin Eakens; four great-grandchildren; sisters, June Guthrie, Ellen Belt and Angela Thorne; and brother, Lendall Guthrie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Terri Tate; brothers, Kendall and Roger Guthrie; and sister, Vivian Guthrie.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at the funeral home, with Caleb Tate officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at Alto Pass Cemetery in Alto Pass.
