ORAN, Mo. -- Yvonne M. Stevens, 72, passed away at home on May 24, 2009.
Stevens was born April 20, 1937, daughter of Amzie and Goldie Wampler Cook in Cornng, Ark. She and Howard L. Stevens were married March 2, 1957, and he survives.
She was a member for many years at the Life Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of Oran. She was a member of the Greater Vision Pentecostal Church in Chaffee, Mo. She worked as a sewing machine operator at Venture Products in Oran.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda (Roger) Morrett of Oran, Connie (Don) Biri of Cape Girardeau and Becky Stevens of Oran; two grandsons, Michael Stevens of Oran, Brian Biri of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, the Rev. Lee Cook of Advance, Mo., James Earl Cook of Charleston, S.C., and Glenn Cook of Houston; a great-granddaughter, Kaylee Biri of Jackson; and two sisters, Retha Davidson of Fenton, Mo., and Anna Mae Baker of Arnold, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Victory Life United Pentecostal Church in Oran. The Rev. Gary Teague will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Robert Poe. Burial will be in Friend Cemetery in Oran.
