Yvonne Brewer

Yvonne Clara Brewer, 99, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, at the Lutheran Home, after a short illness.

Yvonne was born Dec. 1, 1922, in St. Mary, Missouri, to Henry and Dora Breig.

On April 12, 1944, she married Ivan Brewer, and worked at the former Riverside Lumber Co. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau. Her husband Ivan preceded her in death.

She is survived by four children, Ralph (Sharon) Brewer of Round Rock, Texas, Diane Brewer of Cape Girardeau, Dennis (Paula) Brewer of Bonita Springs, Florida, and Jane (Tim) Verble of Centralia, Missouri; as well as five grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Rodgers, Ian (Meredith) Brewer, Brad (Jennifer) Brewer, Melanie (Davin) Gambill and Steven (Rachel) Verble; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral mass will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at the church, with the Rev. Alexander Sutachan officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church or Birthright.
