ALTENBURG -- Funeral for Garlan D. "Woody" Woods of Altenburg will be held at 2 p.m. today at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel. Burial will be in Home Cemetery at Perryville.

Friends may call at the chapel from 11 a.m. until service time.

Woods, 64, died Saturday, May 16, 1998, at his home.

He was born July 16, 1933, in Rector, Ark., son of Elmer and Marvail Harrel Woods.

Woods retired as an assemblyline worker at General Motors in Flint, Mich. He was a member of United Auto Workers Union.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Woods of Argentine, Mich.; a daughter, Cynthia Bartels of Altenburg; a brother, Larry Woods of Poplar Bluff; a sister, Eutha Markham of St. Louis; a friend, Cynthia Garrison of Altenburg; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
