WOODROW W. SEABAUGH

JACKSON -- Woodrow Wilson Seabaugh, 80, of Jackson, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 1994, at the Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 6, 1914, at Sedgewickville, son of Francis Emerson and Nancy Jane Seabaugh. He and Jean Smith were married Aug. 20, 1942, at Sedgewickville.

Seabaugh owned and operated Jackson Electric Co. from 1946-58, and then he and his wife owned and operated Jackson Teen Center 29 years. He was a Circuit Court clerk from 1959-70, and was employed by Missouri Division of Employment Security from 1971-79.

He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church and past president of its board of trustees. Seabaugh was a member of Jackson Chamber of Commerce, VFW Post 10495, Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158, Elks 639 in Cape Girardeau. He was a past president of Rotary Club, was a Paul Harris Fellow, and was a counselor with Boy Scout Troop 11.

Seabaugh served in the U.S. Air Force from 1940-42, and with the U.S. Army in the African and European Theaters from 1942-46. He helped establish the National Guard unit in Jackson, retiring as a captain in 1965.

Survivors include his wife; a son, James Seabaugh of Jackson; a daughter, Michelle Chavez of Jackson; a brother, Milford Seabaugh of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Ollie Friedrich and Mildred Williams of Jackson, and six grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Otto Steinhaus will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today. An American Legion honor guard service will be held at 7:30.
