SIKESTON, Mo. -- Winston Wallace Carden, 75, of Sikeston, formerly of East Prairie, Mo., died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Carden was born April 21, 1929, in Battle Creek, Mich., to Avril Winston and Annie Mae Mathis Carden. He was a retired towboat captain and a member of the Church of Christ. He married Sally Ruth Carr May 22,1966.
Surviving are his wife; four sons, Erlin Wayne Carden of Eclectic, Ala., Roger Dale Carden of East Prairie, John Rubin Carden of Sikeston and Donald Ray Carden of Montgomery, Ala.; three daughters, Gloria Jean Macon of Montgomery, Linda Sue Tylicki of Wetumpka, Ala., and Anita Doris Carden of Montgomery; and a brother, Dan Carden of Eclectic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a great-granddaughter, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral chapel with Aubrey Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
