Winnis Givens

Winnis Jean Givens, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born June 10, 1947, in Cape Girardeau to Elba M. and Daisy Dorsey Wilkinson. She and Mitchell Givens were married June 27, 1964, in Cape Girardeau.

She was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School.

She worked as a pharmacy tech, but her primary job was Mom and Grandma.

She was a member of First General Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Mitchell Givens of Cape Girardeau; son, Scott (Teresa) Givens of Cape Girardeau; sister, Brenda (Rick) Bowman of Cape Girardeau; and grandchildren, Allie, Evan, Jenna and Michael.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, at First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

The family will have a private committal service at Cape County Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
