She was born June 12, 1916, at Lutesville, daughter of Andrew and Lillie Agnes Ripptoe Cavaness. She and William M. Francis were married April 18, 1934. He died in 1973...

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Winifred June "Winnie" Francis, 89, of Marble Hill died Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Elder Care of Marble Hill.

She was born June 12, 1916, at Lutesville, daughter of Andrew and Lillie Agnes Ripptoe Cavaness. She and William M. Francis were married April 18, 1934. He died in 1973.

Francis had been a bookkeeper at Caldwell's Store in Marble Hill. She was a member of Marble Hill United Methodist Church and its choir.

Survivors include two daughters, Thelma Francis of Marble Hill, Janet Inada of Medford, Ore.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Kelpe officiating. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery.
