MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Winford C. Brown, 84, of Marble Hill passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015, at his home. He was born June 18, 1930, in Marble Hill, son of Troy Lee and Sara Ellen Fox Brown. MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Winford C. Brown, 84, of Marble Hill passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015, at his home.

He was born June 18, 1930, in Marble Hill, son of Troy Lee and Sara Ellen Fox Brown. He and V. Imogene Devenport were married Feb. 19, 1949.

Winford retired after serving 24 years as Bollinger County public administrator. He operated Winford C. Brown Insurance Agency and sold real estate.

Prior to working in insurance, he spent 19 years working for the Woodland School District. He was a member of Hahn Chapel General Baptist Church, serving in many areas, especially music.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Kenneth (Kaye) Brown and John (Cassi) Brown of Marble Hill; a daughter, Carole (Jerry) Elfrink of Whitewater; a daughter-in-law, Sherry Brown of Marble Hill; grandchildren, Catina Ross, Sara Hendricks, Angie Carlson, Amy Shy, Joshua Brown, Lindsey Brown, Tatum Bollinger, Chase Massey, Halli Bollinger, Jason Brown and Amanda Brown; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Lonnie Brown, in 2010; a grandson, little Kenny Brown, in 1997; a brother, Wilford Brown; and a sister, Azalee.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.
