SIKESTON -- Wilson B. "Moon" Godwin, 81, of Sikeston died Monday, May 11, 1998, in the Emergency Room at Missouri Delta Medical Center. He was born Oct. 29, 1916, in Jackson, son of Tom and Stella Ramsey Godwin. He and Peggy Ackman were married June 24, 1939, in Cape Girardeau. She died Nov. 16, 1992...

SIKESTON -- Wilson B. "Moon" Godwin, 81, of Sikeston died Monday, May 11, 1998, in the Emergency Room at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 29, 1916, in Jackson, son of Tom and Stella Ramsey Godwin. He and Peggy Ackman were married June 24, 1939, in Cape Girardeau. She died Nov. 16, 1992.

Godwin had been a route salesman and later a supervisor with Hart's Bakery and Interstate Brands more than 32 years. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Godwin of Morley; a daughter, Carol Mercer of Sikeston; a brother, Frank Godwin of Jackson; two sisters, Daisy Long of Jackson, Opal Briggs of Sikeston; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today, and Wednesday after 10 a.m. at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cracraft-Miller Chapel, with the Revs. Donny Haynes and Cecil Adams officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
